You are unable to change the home page in Internet Explorer 7


Release:
Windows Internet Explorer 7
Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP

Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Server 2003 IA64
Windows Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista

Problem:
You are unable to set the default home page in Internet Explorer 7.0. When you launch Internet Explorer, it opens http://runonce.msn.com/runonce3.aspx

Cause
There are missing values in the registry.

Solution:
Need to create two registry values. To do follow this procedure,

1. To open Registry Editor, click Start, click Run type, regedit and then click OK.
(If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or click Continue.)

2. Find and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

3. In the details pane (right side pane), right click on blank screen click New, and then
click DwordValue.

4. Set name RunOnceComplete

5. Double click on RunOnceComplete value, set value data 1

6. In the details pane (right side pane), right click on blank screen click New, and then click DwordValue.

7. Set name RunOnceHasShown

8. Double click on RunOnceHasShown value, set value data 1

9. Close Registry Editor.

10. Restart Internet Explorer.

Error Code 0x800106ba in windows defender installed system

Release:
Windows Defender
 
Problem:
When you run Microsoft Windows Defender or after login to user, you receive one of the following error
messages:
Error message 1
Error Code 0x800106ba Application failed to initialize
Error message 2
Error Code 0x800106ba the systems license has expired. Your logon request is denied.

Cause:
This problem may occur when Windows Defender is updated.

Solution:

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

1. Set the Windows Defender service to Automatic instead of Disabled or Manual. To do this, follow these steps:
a) Click Start, click Run,  type services.msc, and then click OK.
b) Double-click the Windows Defender service, and then in the Startup type box, click Automatic.
c) Click OK.

2. If this issue is not resolved after you complete step 1, uninstall Windows Defender, and then reinstall Windows Defender. To do this, follow these steps: 
a) Click Start, click Run,  type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
b) Click Windows Defender, and then click Remove.
c) Follow the prompts to uninstall Windows Defender.
d) Reboot the system, and then install the Windows defender as same.


3. If this issue is not resolved after you complete step 2, follow this step:
a) Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 file name, and then click OK.

Note: In this step,  file name is a placeholder for the following files.

Repeat this procedure for the following files:
! wuapi.dll
! wuaueng.dll
! wucltui.dll
! wups.dll
! wuweb.dll
! atl.dll
! softpub.dll
! wintrust.dll
! initpki.dll
! mssip32.dll
